Sainsbury’s offloads Argos for GBP120 million

Sainsbury’s, the UK supermarket group, agreed to sell Argos to Swift Partners for cash proceeds of at least GBP120 million, allowing greater focus on its food business. Swift, backed by retail executives and True Capital, will acquire Argos’s stores, digital operations and logistics network. Completion is expected in February 2027, with full separation by February 2029. Sainsbury’s will retain commercial links through Nectar, Habitat and in-store Argos locations. (Sainsbury’s)
