Lidl Polska reveals plans to add 500 more outlets

German discounter Lidl has opened its 1,000th Polish outlet in Katowice, 24 years after entering the market. The retailer has invested around PLN20 billion in Poland and plans at least 500 further locations. The milestone strengthens Lidl’s position in one of Europe’s most competitive grocery markets, where it continues expanding against Biedronka, Aldi, Kaufland and fast-growing local operators.
