Lidl is introducing smartphone self-scanning in France through its Lidl Plus app. Scan&Go allows shoppers to scan products while shopping, track their basket total and pay at a dedicated checkout by scanning a QR code. The service is being tested at selected outlets before a wider rollout, adding another digital function to Lidl Plus as the discounter seeks to reduce checkout friction. (Linéaires)
