Kroger wants to upgrade its wine proposition

US supermarket operator Kroger is upgrading wine departments at 147 stores, adding more than 130 premium wines from France and Italy alongside tasting bars staffed by trained wine stewards. The revamped areas will also feature improved refrigeration and displays. Kroger launched the programme at a Newport, Kentucky, outlet and is assessing additional cabernet and sauvignon blanc wines from California’s Napa Valley. (Supermarket News)
