Intermarché to introduce localised pricing from 2027

French supermarket group Intermarché will introduce a new localised pricing model from January 2027, replacing its long-standing single wholesale pricing system. Stores will choose one of five pricing tiers based on local competition, with the group adjusting wholesale prices to preserve retailer margins. The move is designed to target price investment where it is most needed, allowing stores facing stronger competition to price more aggressively without sacrificing profitability. (Olivier Dauvers)
