Instacart beefs up AI inventory tracking with Arpalus buyout
US grocery technology company Instacart has acquired Arpalus, an AI-powered computer vision business, to improve real-time shelf and inventory intelligence. Arpalus technology converts smartphone or camera footage into shelf data with average accuracy exceeding 95%. Instacart plans to integrate it with its shopper network, Store View platform and Caper Carts, helping retailers reduce OOS, improve ecommerce fulfilment and connect online and in-store operations.
