E.Leclerc sees demand for private label surge this year

French grocery retailer E.Leclerc said its private-label brands generated EUR10.8 billion in sales last year, with almost five billion products expected to be sold in 2026. Volumes have risen nearly 4% since the start of the year as shoppers continue seeking lower-priced alternatives to national brands. The group is expanding ranges across food and non-food categories as private label takes a growing share of its business. (LSA)
