Couche-Tard reportedly mulling Cumberland Farms bid
Canadian convenience retailer Alimentation Couche-Tard has proposed an acquisition of US convenience chain Cumberland Farms for up to USD8 billion. The offer reportedly targets EG America, the US business of UK-based EG Group, which operates around 1,500 convenience stores under brands including Cumberland Farms. The potential transaction could derail EG Group’s plans for a US stock market listing. Neither company has confirmed negotiations. (Reuters)
