Australian supermarkets now operating under revised regulation
Australia’s revised Food and Grocery Code of Conduct has come into force, requiring Aldi, Coles, Metcash and Woolworths to include in supply agreements the circumstances under which they can change terms, require supplier payments or set off invoice amounts. Suppliers can request negotiations on agreement terms at any time. The code also requires greater transparency where suppliers opt out of protections on unilateral variations, payments or set-offs.
