Auchan, the French hypermarket group, plans to reposition large stores as local home-delivery hubs, using their extensive ranges, stock capacity and urban locations to support ecommerce fulfilment. CEO Guillaume Darrasse said hypers must evolve beyond traditional shopping destinations, taking inspiration from US retailers that integrate stores with digital logistics.
