Amazon has launched the UK’s first retailer drone delivery service in Darlington, County Durham, serving eligible customers within 7.5 miles of its fulfilment centre. The limited trial covers everyday items weighing less than 2.2kg, including beauty products, batteries and cables, with UK deliveries currently arriving within two hours. Amazon said it would operate up to ten flights an hour, or 100 weekday deliveries, using its autonomous MK30 drone. (BBC)
