Aldi Suisse returns to its discounting basics
Aldi Suisse said it is returning to its core discount model by cutting unnecessary costs and reinvesting savings in permanent price reductions. The retailer will avoid expensive locations, simplify store layouts, drop niche items and focus on Swiss ranges, organic lines and private label, which already accounts for 90% of its assortment. MD Jérôme Meyer said customers could expect the lowest prices without comparing promotions or collecting loyalty points. (Aldi Suisse)
