German discount retailer Aldi accelerated French expansion during H1 2026 through new openings, relocations and enlarged outlets, strengthening coverage despite speculation over its market commitment. The chain operates more than 1,300 stores nationally and plans around 25 net openings annually, alongside approximately 100 refurbishments. Aldi aims to reach 1,900 French locations within 10 years while improving fresh-food departments and layouts. (LSA)
