Aldi calls time on Scottish loyalty experiment

German discounter Aldi Süd has ended its pilot digital loyalty programme in Scotland after testing app-based rewards and gamified customer engagement. The retailer is understood to have concluded the trial without extending it to other markets, signalling a pause in broader loyalty ambitions. Aldi Süd had sought to differentiate the scheme from conventional discount-led programmes by focusing on interactive features rather than personalised price promotions. (Lebensmittel Zeitung)
